　　Shui: Up to now, when was the time, or which year do you think was the most successful year for you as a professional tennis player? 2005?

　　Nadal: Maybe 2005 was the first year when I got to the top, so it was special, yes.

　　Shui: It was in 2005 that so many people began to realize who you are and they got to know you, Rafael Nadal.

　　Nadal: Yeah, because it was the first year when I won in Roland Garros2). I won 11 tournaments3), so it was the first year when I started the season at fiftieth in the world and after three or four months I was number two. So it was a big change. So for that reason people started to recognize me.

　　Shui: Tell us something about the story in 2005 at Roland Garros. Before that, I guess you didn't realize that you were going to go to the final and beat Federer4).

　　Nadal: In 2005 I beat Federer in the semi-final.

　　Shui: That's right, semi-final.

　　Nadal: Well, in 2005 I was going to Roland Garros with big confidence. I won in Monte Carlo, I won in Barcelona, and I won in Rome. So winning three straight tournaments...

　　Shui: It's like sweeping all the titles!

　　Nadal: Yeah, three very important tournaments. So I went to Roland Garros with big confidence. I started the tournament so-so, without playing my best because I was very nervous in the beginning. But later I played better, in the quarter-final, semi-final, final. I won. And that moment was the best moment in my career.

　　Shui: So when you finally won the championship, you just lay down on the court.

　　Nadal: Yeah, it was a very, very special moment in my life.
