　　Nikky: yes it was very hot here too, many days with 100 degree but it is better now i am hoping weather will stay good for my birthday.(是的，这里夏天也很热，很多时候都是100度，但现在天气好多了，希望到我生日的时候天气会照常【注】他们的温度标准不一样)

　　Brian: it's coming now(马上不就到了么)

　　Brian: unfortunately, there is not too much snow here in shanghai , last winter i have never seen a single piece of snow come down, but it's very dreary.(但不幸的是上海的雪并不多，去年冬天的时候我没有见到一片雪，但天气很阴郁，【注】跟别人谈天气是一种废话，但有些废话又不得不谈)

　　Nikky: no Kelly.(不是，凯丽)

　　Brian: so nikky is not your real name? (那Nikky不是你真名了？)

　　Nikky: it is my nick name my friends and family call me that.(是我的呢称，朋友和家人都这么叫我)

　　Brian: so i can still call you nikky.(那我还是可以叫你Nikky了？)

　　Nikky: yes u may，all my friends do, J. (当然，我的朋友都这么叫我)

　　Brian: tell me how did you spend your last birthday? with whom, must be with film developer, right?(告诉我上次生日是怎么过的，跟谁过的，一定是和那个胶卷师吧)

　　Nikky: no, he was on vacation with his mom i spent it alone as i will this yr, L. (没有，他当时和他妈妈度假去了，我一个人过的，今年可能又是我一个人过L)

　　Brian: did he send something for that day?(他有没有送你什么东西？)

　　Nikky: he sent me some stuff and i sent him some stuff(他送我一些东西，我也送他一些东西)

　　Brian: will this remind you something，you send him what? Yourself?(这会不会钩起你对往日的记忆？你送给他什么了，你自己么？)

　　Nikky: no clothes cologne.(不，科龙香水,【注】只要在街上碰见外国人，十有八九很远就能够闻到他们身上的香水味道，也许是要掩盖住他们的体味吧)

　　Brian: no wonder the western men like the cologne so much , just cause their girl send it to him.(难怪西方男人都那么喜欢用香水，原来是有女孩子送给他们呀)

　　Nikky: lol i guess so it helps when a man smells good.(嗯，我想这可以使一个男人的气味变的很好闻)

　　Brian: i agree with you there，so how many days you can be off for a whole week's work in the school?(我同意你说的话，那你在学校一个星期休息几天呀)

　　Nikky: i wont be off for whole week .(我天天都得工作)

　　Brian: you work everyday? Jesus, that's incredible.(你每天都工作么，天啦，真是不可思议，【注】Jesus!很多人的口头禅，老天，老天爷的意思)

　　Nikky: except weekends.(除了周末)

　　【Brain小结】：世界上最难做的不是教中国学生学英文，而是教外国学生学中文，记得上次女足世界杯决赛前的时候，花了整整一个晚上告诉他“中国队大胜美国队”和“中国队大败美国队”实际上表示的是一个意思。
