Brian: u didn’t answer my question yet, how did he start the photo job?
Nikky: well, it’s kinda natural for him, and he just like to photo everything he want.(对他来说是很自然的事情,他喜欢拍下喜欢的任何事情)
Brian: and sent those photos to the magazines?
Nikky: yes, he sent to a magazine, every picture that was good he sent to a magazine, and although he got a million rejections, he did get some positive encouragement.【注】Nikky的那个前男朋友虽然离开了她,但从她的谈话中可以看出Nikky还是有点怀恋,她的前男朋友刚开始干照相时,也经历了很多磨难,投杂志社,照片总是被拒载,就像初入写作的人梦想自己的文章有朝一日能变成铅字一样,但只要你坚持,总有一天会梦想成真的。
Brian: from u?
Nikky: no, from himself, never give up
Brian: with his digital camera?
Nikky: he got several cameras.
Brian: did he need some, some special permissions to travel into China?
Nikky: I just know that what he need is a visa he can get from the Chinese consulate, which is very easy to do.
Brian: no passport.
Nikky: yes, no passport.
Brian: that’s really no fair.(这真不公平呐)
Nikky: Ahhh
Brian: he went to Beijing?
Nikky: absolutely
Brian: and the Forbidden City?
Nikky: yes, he was with a local guide who got him into the Forbidden City and all the other places of interest.
Brian: that he took pictures there in Forbidden City?
Nikky: I don’t know, he just told me he went there.
Brian: and u know about the Forbidden City, nikky?【注】问问这个Nikky听说过紫禁城没有
Nikky: is it the house for the ancient Chinese Empire?
Brian: yes, u know a lot about Chinese history!
Nikky: just a little, so I thought if one day I want to be here in China, I want to see the Forbidden City , and the Great Wall as well
Brian: so he went to the Great Wall?
Nikky: yes, he did.
Brian: was it memorable?【注】memorable,值得纪念的,有纪念意义的
Nikky: if I were him , it would be the most exciting thing to stand on the Great Wall of China, brian, have u bee there, the Great Wall?
Brian: just once, in 1993, when I was in the high school.
Nikky: it must be great, awwww
Brian: u can say that, especially at sunset【注】日落, basically all alone, it was an incredible experience.【注】93年还在上中学的我随着父亲出差第一次到了北京,而且第一次看到长城和长城上美丽的日落,当时只有自己一个人,静静的,在长城脚下,感受长城的凄凉和美丽。
Nikky: u get to feel it , all alone.
