　　Ignorance, lack of knowledge,无知；愚昧。Ignorance of the law is no excuse.对法律无知不是借口。它的形容词形式ignorant，表示无知的；不知道的。Ignorant of even the simplest facts.连最简单的事实都一无所知。

　　Proud，通常我们都用做褒义词，表示自豪的，引以为荣的。但是在这里是贬义词，表示骄傲的；自负的；傲慢的。He’s too proud to be seen in public with his poorly-dressed mother.他太高傲了，甚至不愿意在公共场所让人看到自己跟穿着破衣服的母亲在一起。
