  MRS GREEN:Oh no! It's the thief! He's come back!

  格林夫人:噢,天哪!小偷!小偷又回来了!

  MR GREEN:Butswheresis he? I can't see anybody anywhere!

  格林先生:但他在哪儿?我看不到任何人!

  INSPECTOR:Er,... Excuse me, sir. Is that the parrot that youre looking for?

  警官:哦……,请问先生,这是你们在找的鹦鹉吗?

  MR GREEN:What? ... Yes! That's Polly! Come down, Polly!

  格林先生:什么?……是的!它是波利!下来,波利!

  INSPECTOR:And is this the necklace that was stolen?

  警官:这是被偷的项链吗?

  MRS GREEN:Yes, that's my necklace!

  格林夫人:对,这是我的项链!

  JIM:So Polly was the thief who stole Mum's necklace!

  吉姆:那么波利就是偷妈妈项链的小偷了!

  INSPECTOR:Yes. Im afraid your parrot has seen too many films about stealing.

  1come back“回来”,相当于be back。come back强调回来的动作,而be back则强调一种状态。

  语法天地

  引导定语从句的关系代词

  1that常用来指人或物,在句中充当主语或宾语。

  Those are the shoes that I lost last week.那是我上星期丢的鞋子。

  2which仅指事物,在从句中充当主语或宾语。

  Lucy can't eat food which has chocolate in it.

  露茜不能吃带巧克力的食品。

  I still remember the story which Grandma often told me.

  我仍记得奶奶常给我讲的故事。

  3who只指人。通常充当从句的主语,在口语中也可替代whom,充当从句宾语。

  Those who are in favour, hands up.赞成的,举手。

  The boy who he saved is her brother.他救的男孩是她弟弟。
