　　It is no more than an empty talk.那只不过是一种空谈。

　　He is no more a god than we are.他和我们一样都不是神。

　　4. not more than至多,不超过not more...than不及

　　There are not more than ten cars there.那里至多有十辆车。

　　This problem is not more difficult than that one.这个问题不比那个更难。

　　5. less than不到,不及;毫不less...than与其说是……不如说是

　　It had cost her less than two francs.她付出不到两个法郎。

　　They have less hats than caps.他们的礼帽少而便帽多。

　　6. one another互相one...another一……另一……

　　They said goodbye to one another.他们彼此道别。

　　He has four shirts. One is blue, another is yellow, the others are white.

　　Work hard so as to finish before noon.加油干,争取中午前完成。

　　The question is so obvious as to need no reply.问题清楚得不需要回答。

　　8. so that以便,为了so...that如此……以致于……

　　Speak louder so that we can hear you.说大声一点,以便我们听得见。

　　He was so angry that he couldn't speak.他气得连话都说不出来了。

　　9. such as例如such...as像……那样

　　They will plant flowers such as roses and sunflowers.他们将种些花,例如玫瑰和向日葵。

　　I like such people as these.我喜欢这样的人。

　　10. make for走向,有助于,导致make...for为……而做……

　　They set off by car and made for the nearest town.他们乘汽车出发,向最近的城镇开去。

　　He is making a plan for teaching.他正在制定教学计划。
