　　There will be a meeting for all the teachers and monitors of our school in the meeting-room at four o'clock this afternoon.

　　How time flies! It is a year since I came to London for further study. Now I want to tell you about some differences between London and Beijing.

　　Here cars are driven on the left side of the road, but in our country on the right side. Many people here go to work by car or by underground, while most people in Beijing go to work by bike. The climate of Beijing is better than that of London. The weather in Beijing is fine for long periods, but London has so many cloudy days. Workers here work five days a week just as in Beijing. Students here don't make full use of their time and very few people know Chinese. Students in Beijing work hard at their lessons and many people can speak English.

　　Welcome to our school. Now, let me introduce our school to you. The school gate faces east. The teaching building stands in the center of our school. East of the teaching building is the meeting hall. On its left is our school's library. There are many excellent books in it. On its right is our school's lab building. Between the gate and the meeting hall is a garden with lots of beautiful flowers in it.

　　West of the teaching building there is a dormitory building and a large playground. After school we often have a lot of games on the playground.

　　One day, on the way to school, Xiao Ming threw a banana skin onto the ground after he finished eating it. Suddenly he heard a cry from behind. He turned round and saw Xiao Li step on the banana skin and fall heavily to the ground. Xiao Hong ran to Xiao Li as fast as possible to help her rise. Xiao Ming felt very sorry for what he had done. So he quickly went back to the place where the banana skin was. He picked it up and threw it into a dustbin. When Xiao Li and Xiao Hong saw Xiao Ming throw the banana skin into the dustbin, they forgave him.
