过渡性词语在英文写作中起重要作用，它可以使文章条理清楚，逻辑严密。常见的过渡性词语包括一些连词、副词及短语。根据文章的结构布局和它们在其中所起的作用。将其分类归纳如下，以供同学们写作之需。

　　一、并列、递进型

　　常见的并列、递进型过渡性词语包括：and, also, too, what's more, in addition, furthermore, as well as等。

　　二、解释、列举型

　　通常用如下词语(组)表达：that is, i.e., that is to say, such us, for exemple, for instance, namely, first(ly), second(ly), third(ly)等。

　　三、顺序表达型

　　包括时间顺序和空间顺序两类。

　　1. 时间顺序型的有：now, at present, then, at that time, in the future, at the same time, at first, in(at) the end, in the past, soon, next, meanwhile, recently, immediately, at once等。

　　2. 空间顺序型的有：on(to) the right(left), in the middle of, inside, outside, at the end of, at the top of, near (to), around, on the other side, far from等。

　　四、比较对照型

　　常见的包括：but, while, just like, on the other hand, in contrast, on the contrary, however, instead, in the same way, in spite of, even though等。

　　五、因果关系型

　　1. 表示原因的：because(of), for, as, since(that), for that reason等。

　　2. 表示结果的：as a result, so, therefore等。

　　六、总结陈述型

　　常见的包括：all in all, in one word, in short, generally (speaking), obviously, undoubtedly, as above等。

　　在写作中如果能恰当使用这些过渡性词语，会使你的文章大为增色，同学们不妨一试。
