　　阅读理解的步骤和技巧(六)

　　阅读理解往往包括一些要求在理解基础上进行分析和推断的试题。这种试题的答案在文章中没有明确地指出来，但可以通过文章的叙述推断出来，这就要求同学们在阅读过程中根据已有的知识和上下文提供的线索，仔细分析，才能作出正确判断；一定要掌握好解题的速度，有效地控制考试时间；先易后难是考试时答题的一般方法，碰到难题时，千万不要钻牛脚尖，耽误太多的时间。一时做不出的题，要果断舍弃，以免影响有把握的题的解答。等全部题做完后，如有剩余时间再回头做难题。要注意找主题句，利用它来查找有关信息。逐一校对各题的答案，注意各题的答案是否前后呼应，要立足整体。

　　Kate lives in a tall building in the city of Richmond with her parents. Her home is on the eighteenth floor. There are many tall buildings around hers. When Kate gets up in the morning, she often sees the sun coming up from the top of the tall building next to hers.①

　　Kate has a good friend called Mary. They study in the same class. But Mary lives on a farm ouside the city with her grandparents. The farm is near a river at the foot of the hills. There are many apple trees around her house. Mary likes watching the sun going down behind the hills far away.

　　One day Kate and Mary are talking about the sun. Kate says, “When I see the sun coming up from the top of that tall building, I know a good day begins.” But Mary says, “Oh, no. You're wrong. The sun doesn't come up from a tall building. It comes up from some tall trees, and it goes down behind the hills.”

　　14.newest。“one of +形容词最高级”表示“最……的之一”。本句提到的water skating是一项最新型运动。

　　15.understand。是及物动词，意为“理解；懂得”。本句的意思是“来自不同国家的人们可能互相不了解，但是比赛之后，他们常成为好朋友。”

　　本句中的句型是have been to a place意为“曾去过某地”，表示人已回来，常用于现在完成时中，以后我们会学习此语法。如：I have been to Beijing three times. 我曾去过北京三次。
