主谓一致原来在高二教材(上册)中出现，现在放在高一新教材(下册)中学习，并且内容更详细了。

　　主谓一致有三种情况：语法一致，即主语为单数形式，谓语动词也用单数形式，主语为复数形式，谓语动词也用复数形式；意义一致，即从意义着眼来处理主谓一致问题；就近原则，即谓语动词的人称和数和最近的词语保持一致。主谓一致牵涉到be动词的五种形式is, am, are, was, were,一般现在时第三人称单数形式及现在完成时。

　　1. 两个主语由and 连接时，谓语动词一般用复数。如：

　　Jane and Betty are going on separate holidays in a few days' time. (高一教材 Unit 3)

　　但是，由and连接两个单数名词，名词前只有一个定冠词修饰时，指同一人或同一事物，谓语动词用单数。试比较：

　　The teacher and writer is going to write an article for the newspaper. (同一个人)

　　The teacher and the writer are going to write an article for the newspaper. (两个人)

　　由and连接的并列单数主语的前面分别有each, every, no或many a 修饰时，谓语用单数，如：

　　No teacher and no student is allowed to smoke in class.

　　Many a plant and many an animal is endangered on the earth.

　　2.集体名词作主语指整体时，谓语动词用单数：指一个个的成员时，谓语动词用复数。这些集体名词包括：team, group, class, family, army, enemy, government, audience, crowd, committee等。如：

　　The boys' team has some good players, but the girls' is a better team. (高一教材Unit 17)

　　My dog team were not with me to pull my sled. (高一教材Unit 17)

　　3. 主语是一些只有复数形式的名词时，谓语动词用复数，若有a pair of或a piece of 等修饰时，谓语动词的单复数形式由pair或piece等决定。这类名词有clothes, trousers, glasses, shoes, socks, gloves, scissors等。如：

　　My shoes are on the floor.

　　A pair of shoes is on the floor.

　　Pairs of shoes are on the floor.

　　4. 有些名词本身以s结尾，但表示单数概念，作主语时，谓语动词用单数，如maths, politics, physics, news, species等。但学科名词前如有物主代词修饰时，谓语动词用复数。如：

　　The good news is that there is a lot we can do to help. (高一教材Unit 10)

　　If a new species arrives, the animals and plants of the habitat must change again. (高一教材Unit 10)

　　Maths is difficult to learn.

　　My maths are weak.

　　5. police, cattle, people等集合名词作主语时，谓语动词用复数。如：

　　The police are searching for the murderer.

　　The Chinese are is a hardworking people.
