1. have an advantage over; have the advantage of

　　have an advantage over 意为“胜过；比……优越”； have the advantage of意为“有……的优越性；处于……有利的地位”。如：

　　You have an advantage over me in learning English. 你在学英语方面比我强。

　　He had the advantage of good education. 他有受良好教育的有利条件。

　　2. deal with; do with

　　二者都有“对待；对付；处理”的意思，此时二者可以通用，但是deal with常和how连用，do with 常和what连用。如：

　　How do you deal with such a man? 你怎么对付这种人？

　　What will you do with the problem? 你怎么处理这个问题？

　　3. arise; rise

　　arise 意为 “出现；发生”；rise 意为“上升；上涨；起身；起床”。如：

　　A strong wind arose. 刮起了一阵强风。

　　Some unexpected difficulties have arisen. 出现了一些意外的困难。

　　The river is rising after the rain. 雨后河水不断上涨。

　　The sun rises in the east. 太阳从东方升起。

　　He rose to greet his guests. 他站起来迎接客人。

　　She rises before it is light. 她黎明即起。

　　4. go by; go on; fly; pass

　　它们都表示“时间过去了”，但go by, fly, pass常表示确切的年月等的过去；go on, fly常指时间流逝。如：

　　Three years went by before she knew it. 三年过去了，她才意识到这一点。

　　Twenty years passed and he looks so young. 二十年过去了，他看上去依然这么年轻。

　　As time went on, his hair became grey. 随着时间的流逝，他的头发变灰白了。

　　How time flies!时间过得真快啊!
