　　比赛演讲稿

　　Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, I am Tonny from Shanghai World Foreign Language Primary School. I am a sunshine boy. I always have a smile on my face and I often tell my friends funny stories which make them laugh a lot. Therefore, I got a nickname “Funny Tonny”. Now I would like to present you a story called “A Poor Bird”.

　　Every year, John sent his mother expensive presents on her birthday. Just to show how rich and successful he was. He advertised in the newspapers: “Wanted--the perfect gift for the woman who has everything.” In the following days, phones from all of the world came to sell him the perfect gift. However, none of them interested him.

　　The day before his mother’s birthday, a man came, carrying a cage with a big bird in it. “This bird,” the man said, “can speak ten languages and sing any pop song.”

　　“Wonderful, I’ll buy it, how much?”

　　“Eh…one million dollars.” the man said.

　　John paid him though not very willingly. Then he sent it to his mother with a birthday card.

　　The day after his mother’s birthday, he phoned her: “Well, mother, how do you think of the bird?”

　　“Oh! It was really delicious, dear!” she said.

　　先生/女士：下午好！我是上海世界外国语小学的戴一韬。我是一个阳光男孩。我的脸上总是挂着一丝笑容，而且我喜欢和朋友们讲

　　每年John妈妈的生日，他都会送给她很昂贵的礼物，目的在于要显示出他事业很成功，又非常有钱。他在报纸刊登了一条“征求——对于一个已拥有许多东西的妇女来说，最完美的礼物”。在接下来的日子里，世界各地的电话接连不断，但是没有一个使他感到满意。

　　就在他妈妈生日的前一天，一个男人来了，提着一个里面装有一只很大的鸟的笼子。“这只鸟，”那人说道，“会说十种语言并会唱任何的流行歌曲！”

　　“太好了，我要了，多少钱？”

　　“一百万美元。”

　　John虽然很不情愿，但还是给了他。然后，他把一张生日贺卡连同那只鸟寄给了他妈。

　　第二天，John打电话问道：“妈妈，你觉得那只鸟怎么样啊？”

　　“噢！那简直就是太美味了！”她说道！
