Dear friend:

　　It’s been one week since I changed the schedule. Everything is getting better. Students here seem very curious of me, cause I come from different country. Once on the American history, we separate to five teams to five teams to discuss the topic. After we finish it, they ask me how the life in Taiwan, and then they ask me to say something in Chinese. They think it’s cool to speak Chinese they also ask me to write their name in Chinese, suddenly, all the students come and stand around my desk, I was shocked by that.

　　Sometimes girls will ask me where did I shop at, where did I get shoes, where something like that. The only answer is“I bought it from Taiwan!”I feel a little bit proud of myself. That means I’ve got a good taste on clothing. Actually, I think the cloth in Taiwan is better and cheaper than here. I don’t go shopping very often; I only go when I really need to buy something. In fact, I don’t spent time on choosing what to where. I get up, pick any of them and put on jeans then I go to school. But my host sister care a lot, she always pick up the cloth before she goes to bed. That’s amazing for me!

　　I’m now in the marching band. I practice it since a week ago. It’s kind of hard for me, cause they already practice it since July. Every time I practice it, it’s like“oh my god, where do I support to go next!”there are four students near me. They always help me a lot, the two boys, cause we’re always in the same line one of the boy“used”to sit next to me on world humanities (cause I drop the class). The other one our have the same broadcasting class. They really help me so much, I can’t describe how much I appreciate they are so nice to me, always telling me what they are doing now and help me to get to my spot. They even stop playing music to tell me where to go two days ago, we have a performance during the football game. I didn’t know I was going to perform that night, cause I had only practice it about five days. I was surprised that the teacher’s want me to perform that night, doesn’t she afraid that I may forget where to go and ruin it? The teacher tell me“it called practice”It’s very different from Taiwan, most of time, if you only practice it few times teacher won’t put you in it I think they want it to be no mistake. But here, it’s different! It’s a surprise, a good one. It’s a home game on Friday. At the half time, the guest marching band play first, they did it pretty well and the audience gave them a big hand. I was worried that time, thinking if we march worse than them that will be a shame! I was silly; after we march the audience gave us much more than they gave the guest band! After the game, it’s about 10:20. We were going back to the band room. We have a tradition that three or four students stand as a line in front of the door, the teacher will count to three and the line closest to the door have to scream as loud as you can, then you can pass, then is the next line. It’s pretty fun; I also went to those students who help me during this week to tell them how I appreciate their help. Even now, I’m still thinking how they help me this week. I still can feel how nice they treat me. I’m touched for that, deep from my heart! It’s not something I can use words or sentences to describe. I can’t make it without their help. I’m only in the band for one week, but I know, I’m not only having fun here, I’ll love it!

亲爱的朋友：

　　来这已一周了，一切都好。得知我从别的国家来，学校的学生对我充满好奇。课上课下都会有好多人围着我问这问那。

　　有时还会有一些女孩问我衣服、鞋子在哪买的。我的唯一答案“台湾”。这让我感到很自豪，因为这证明我穿着很有品位。说实话，台湾的衣服比这的又好又便宜。其实，我不怎么特意去逛街、买衣服，平时穿的也很随意，但我的姐姐(美国主人家庭姐姐)却很注意，每晚睡觉前都会把第二天的衣服准备好，真让我惊讶。

　　我参加了学校的军乐队。对我来说，训练起来有相当难度。每次练习，我都在想“天呐，我该怎么撑下去？”幸运的是，周围的同学都很帮忙，我很感动。真不知怎样用语言形容他们对我有多好。我们在足球赛中有一场演奏，事先我毫不知情，只练了5天而已。当得知要我参加表演，我很担心自己的表现。你也知道，在台湾老师通常不会让只练过几天的学生上场，万一出错，脸就丢大了。但在老师和同学的帮助和鼓励下，我们终于取得了成功。观众报以最热烈的掌声。

　　我感觉这里和台湾不同的是：台湾不管做什么都要事先一遍又一遍的检查和练习，而在这里就不需要。他们相信每一个人都是最好的。我真的从内心深处被他们感动了。没有他们的帮助，我是不会成功的。虽然只有短短的一周经历，但我知道：我参加军乐队不仅是因为好玩，我学到了很多东西。我喜欢这里的一切！
