　　My Opinion on Campus Love

　　Campus love isn't a new phenomenon. Some people are strongly against it while some others think it's natural.

　　I don't advocate it. The reasons are as follows. First of all, undergraduates are neither fully psychologically mature nor able to assume the responsibility, especially freshmen and sophomores. Second, they may indulge in it, thus dilapidate their study, which isn't rare. Third, some just take advantage of it to kill time, and avoid boredom with much time at their own disposals. What's more, some change dating "partners" frequently, holding a paradox opinion that they could show off their charm or accumulate experience, but more often than not, they would leave a bad impression, such as lacking the sense of responsibility, on others, especially their former sweethearts. 　　Cars and Air Pollution

　　Too many cars have created a lot of serious problems in our world. Besides congestion, accidents and fast fuel consumption, cars are responsible for a good part of air pollution in big cities.

One possible solution is to design and develop clean cars and clean fuels. Another solution is to develop modern public transportation systems and restrict the use of private cars. If the price of petrol rises constantly and the public vehicles are efficient and convenient enough, most people will not buy private cars. And the total number of cars in big cities will reduce greatly.

　　On the whole, the elimination of air pollution needs the collective efforts from the government, the public and the environmentalists.

　　Changes in People's Diet in China

　　As can be seen from the table, great changes have been taking place in people's diet over the period from 1986 to 1990. The consumption of grain is decreasing year by year, while that of some high-energy food, such as milk and meat, is increasing steadily.

　　Why are there changes in people's diet? There are two major reasons, I think. First, nowadays people can afford much more expensive food with better nutrition. Second, people now pay more attention to the quality of it, because they know it is of great benefit to their health. Therefore, they try their best to improve the structure of their food consumption.

　　From the above, we can see that people's living level has been rising markedly in the past five years. And we can expect that there will be a more prosperous future waiting for us.

　　Should Women Have Equal Job Opportunities with Men

　　As can be seen in the table, the percentage of people who agree with this point exceeds that of people who disagree, especially in China. However, in China and the U.S., particularly in Japan, there are still some people against women's equal job opportunities with men. Possible reasons for this, I think, are as follows:

　　For one thing, the women's liberation movement across the world has raised women's social positions a lot. In China, laws concerned have been passed to protect women's rights in many areas. In the U.S., it is illegal to discriminate against women in employment. For another, women are till thought inferior to men in many aspects as a result of traditional ideas as well as physiological difference between men and women and this is rather serious in Japan.

　　It is my opinion that women's importance in society should be admitted by more and more people. The society should provide them with more job opportunities rather than look down upon them.
