　　About Studying Abroad\;

　　Some people believe that attending a college or university in a foreign country has many advantages. Firstly, they think a student learns much more studying abroad than in his own country. Secondly, they think that they can master a foreign language more quickly and easily.

　　But some people don't agree to it. They believe attending a college or university in a foreign country also has many disadvantages. Firstly, overseas students will have more difficulties both in life and in study. The most serious problem is that of language. Secondly, studying abroad costs so much that the average family can not afford it.

　　As far as I am concerned, both of the two viewpoints above are reasonable in some respects. Studying abroad is a very good idea if money is not a problem. Those whose family income can not support them to go abroad had better study at home. Our country also possesses some very good colleges and universities. 

　　Good or Evil of Suspending Study to Establish a Business?

　　Some people believe that it is praiseworthy for some students to suspend college studies to launch their own career. Firstly, college students in China need to be bold in their endeavors to explore the outside world. Secondly, the chances of being successful are tremendous, particularly in the currently most fashinable IT industry. Thirdly, students who has worked out a promising plan have the possibility of getting venture investment.\;

　　However, other people harbor opposite points of view. Their reasoning is as follows. Firstly, having a leading position in business does not solely depend on passion and courage. Management skills and mature personality weigh highly to ensure that a venture can survive, but some students don't possess these necessities. Secondly, learning as much as possible when one is young is vital to one's later development. They doubt whether suspending one's study is worthwhile.

　　In my view, to suspend college study to launch one's own career should be either encouraged or curbed. The ambitious students need to give themselves an objective evaluation before they're determined to be an entrepreneur right now. Certainly, it should not be the best choice of the majority of the students.

　　How to Raise Children?\;

　　Generally speaking, opinion about how to raise children can be divided into two sides. One holds that children should be granted more freedom, so they can learn to be independent. The other believes that children should be given more discipline in case they get spoiled.

　　Those who are in favor of firm discipline have their reasons. Firstly, they believe that if left unchecked, children tend to behave stupidly and develop bad habits. Secondly, they have noticed that strict schools often achieve good academic results. Thirdly, disciplined children are more likely to become productive workers when they grow up.

　　The opposite view is reasonable too. Firstly, discipline always renders children timid and obedient, so their creative potential may not be able to be tapped. Secondly, strict disciplines imposed on them may aliens them from the world they belong to, which is harmful to the development of their characters.

　　In my opinion, the advantages of firm discipline are much greater than those of “let-him-be" strategy. Since kids are not mature enough, they don't have much experience in dealing with the things happening around them. Parental help and strict discipline are essential to their maturity and success. As the old English saying goes, spare the rod and ruin the child.

　　Cooperation and competition coexist in modern society. First, in business world, businessmen compete with one another at the very beginning and later on they cooperate in one field or another and vice versa. Second, every country cooperates with other countries, and at the same time they compete with one another. Third, even in educational field, people cooperate and compete with each other. \;

　　However, some people believe that competition is more important than cooperation. In the first place, modern society has a competitive mechanism. For example, if one wants to find a job, he has to face up to the competition from others. In the second place, if one is not competitive enough, he is more likely to fail in life.

　　Personally, I agree that everyone has to being accustomed to be competitive. But I also attach great importance to cooperation. To begin with, a single person's wisdom is limited, he needs to draw help from others. On the other hand, he has to cooperate with others. Furthermost, if he is ready to cooperate, he is more likely to succeed. In a word, we should value competition and cooperation at the same time.

　　One group of students is very enthusiastic about school activities; they have their reasons. Firstly, they think that learning from textbooks is not their only task while in universities. They believe that they should take every chance to get access to practical knowledge. Secondly, they hold that after long hours of study, they can relax themselves both physically and mentally by way of participating school activities.

　　While the other group takes little interest in them and spends most of their time on studies. The view of this group of students is based on the following two points. First, they maintain that they should make full use of time to pursue their academic studies.Second,they believe that school activities are very time-consuming and have nothing to do with their personal development.

　　As far as I'm concerned, I prefer the first view. On the one hand, we can learn a great deal from other students we meet in activities. Furthermore, the modern society requires of young students many qualities, so “book-worms" can't keep up with the times any longer.
