Woman setsher flatmate on fire because he threw away her spaghettimeatballs

That’s what33-year-old Melissa Dawn Sellers did after getting into an argumentwith her flatmate because he had thrown outher spaghetti meatballs,according to police。

After a nightof drinking, Ms Sellers reportedly returned to her home inClearwater, Florida at 2.30am and flew intoa rage upon finding thatCarlos Ortiz, 42, had thrown away her meal。

The arrestreport states she then doused Mr Ortizwith flammable nailpolish remover and set him ablaze。

Mr Ortiz’sfriend Ines Causevic, who witnessed the incident, immediately threwwater over him and tried to put out the flames with hisshirt。

‘When he gotup his face looked like it was melting off, it was pink and sore.His lips were burning,’ Causevic said。

Mr Causevicrushed Mr Ortiz to the local hospital, where doctors say he is in acritical condition with burns to his face, chest andshoulders。

Ms Sellersfled the scene shortly after the incident, however later returnedto her step-father’s house nearby where she was arrested and chargewith attempted murder。

NeighboursKatherin Mudse said Mr Ortiz kindly allowed Ms Sellers to stay inhis flat as she was evicted from her lastresidence。

‘He’s just anice man. He was trying to help this girl. He took care of herdogs,’ she added。
